Debasish is one of the most promising and upcoming Tabla player of our country today. From the age of 5, he started taking training on Tabla from Late Pandit Nanku Maharaj of Benaras Gharana. He continued receiving ‘Talim’ from him for about a little more than three years. Later on, he joined with world-renowned Tabla player Late Pandit
Kanai Dutta of Farukkabad Gharana. Which enriched him in
understanding two different Gharanas or style of playing, namely Benaras
and Farukkabad. |

Currently for the last 25 years, he is under the noble guidance of his Guru and uncle, the world-famous Tabla maestro Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri of Lucknow Gharana. Since his childhood he has played in a number of ensembles, organized by Birla Academy of Culture & Arts, Calcutta as well as concerts organized by renowned organization, namely Tansen Sangeet Samaj, Calcutta. |

His emphasis is now on becoming a Solo Artiste for which he has performed in many a concerts in Calcutta and outside as well. In the recent past, he has performed in a series of programmes as an accompanist with Smt. Lalita Sharma, a very upcoming North Indian vocalist and disciple of famous Pandit Jasraj of Mewati Gharana. In his recent tour of Kerala, a state of India, played with different South Indian Classical reputed musicians namely, Dr. Omnakutty, Dean of Music, Kerala University, Tripurithura Radhakrishnan, Ghattam player, K. Sekhar, Tavil player, Ganesh Kumar, Kanjira player and so on. He also played and accompanied with various reputed North Indian Classical musicians such as Ustad Aashish Khan (Sarod), Pandit V.G. Jog (Violin), Pandit Shyamal Nath (Sarod) to name a few. |

 Percussion Ensemble at American Centre Concert Very recently, in a North / South Western Percussion Ensemble in a concert organized by U.S. Department’s Cultural Wing in Calcutta, he played together with his Guru and Uncle, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. In his credit he has lot of foreign National students from various countries such as America, Europe and Australia. |

Besides performances, he has a keen interest in teaching Tabla too.He also
run a full fledged Advertising Agency, namely Cybergraphics, dealing
in Graphic Designs, Exhibition jobs, Signages for Outdoor
Advertising, Printing of Brochures,
Catalogues, Business Cards, Web Designs
and many other activities. |
